See the maps down this page (or on the brochure) to find out where to look.
Use the booklet to identify the hares and collect every last one. Tick the hares off as you find them.
If you find 20 hares, fill in the form overleaf and you could win one of many fantastic prizes.
Last year we had great fun with the ‘Pigs on Parade’ around Dublin and this year with our ‘Hares on the March’ we intend to keep people of all ages entertained whilst they walk around Dublin city centre finding, appreciating and enjoying the wonderful pieces of art that have been created by our superbly talented artists from all over Ireland and the UK.
Since working on this project people have asked me ‘Why a Hare?’ Well, there are many reasons. The hare is Irish, rich in mythological significance, associated with the Dawn, the wheel of life, the Spring, madness and genius and, famously, hares go mad in March. They live lonely lives. We thought we might bring them out into society for a bit of a swagger, to everyone’s benefit.
Once again we owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to so many people such as all the superb artists (one and all) who participated, those who submitted applications but unfortunately were unsuccessful with their designs. Lily O’Brien’s Chocolates as our main sponsor and the business community in general. The individual companies who have Adopted some hares and Sponsored others have made such a valuable contribution, last and by no means least the general public who always make our Public Arts Initiatives so much fun and so worthwhile.
We are giving everybody the opportunity, around Ireland and around the World to make an online bid for their favorite hare and as for the selected 25 Golden Hares these will go to our Live Auction at the RCPI on Tue 15th March where the brilliant John deVere White, from deVeres Art Auctions will do what he does best.
